Daniela La Mariquita (Daniela Borosova):
For me, DJing is like a drug. Right after I finish a set I am already looking forward to the next one.
I love the challenge that DJing offers to me. The challenge is to choose the proper music for the moment, music that people could enjoy and like, music that modulates the atmosphere in the way I would like.
Every set is different, every set gives and teaches me something new. Till now, there is no routine in my DJing thanks to tangueros and plenty tango recordings that together bring me a lot of inspiration.
My style of DJing depends on conditions – kind of event, dancing level of participants, current atmosphere etc.
I play only traditional music including current orchestras that I use like a spice.
Usually I start with some nice older recordings that are easy to dance in order to warm up dancers. Then I observe and I try to build the set according to current conditions.
Let me pick the most interesting sets that I played:
- at regular milongas:
Corrientes in London, Tango Nar milonga in Istanbul, Lieblingsmilonga at KantineKiosk in Munich, El Berretin in Amsterdam, Wilcza milonga in Warsaw.
- special events:
La última cortina! Lange Tangonacht im OnStage in Munich, Friday night set at Cita Bendito, Saturday afternoon set at 4 Rosas Tango”s”ita in Munich, Christmass milonga, White Milonga (both in Prague), Orquesta típica Ciudad Baigón – Live in Prague
