Dezember eine Afternoon Milonga mit einem angeschlossenen Weihnachtsmarkt. \nWir bieten allerlei Vintage Audio Equipment wie Plattenspieler\, Verstärker\, analoge Lautsprecher und eine Unmenge an Tangoschallplatten an. \nWir werden diese auch spielen\, und das dient auch als Hintergrundbeschallung für die stattfindende Milonga. \n*** \nMartin Haslehner and I\, Don Xello\, have warehouses that are overflowing\, and during this reflective time of year\, we want to share. For this reason\, we are hosting an Afternoon Milonga with an attached Christmas market on Saturday\, December 14th. \nWe’re offering all kinds of vintage audio equipment\, such as turntables\, amplifiers\, analog speakers\, and a vast collection of tango records. \nWe’ll also be playing these records\, providing the background music for the Milonga taking place.

DESCRIPTION:Diese Woche haben wir die Freude\, ein ganz besonderes Paar für eine tolle Performance während der Milonga präsentieren zu dürfen: \nElizabeth Cordone & Matias Rivas \nElizabeth Cordone und Matias Rivas sind renommierte Tänzer\, Choreografen und Lehrer des argentinischen Tangos. Sie haben in Buenos Aires eine professionelle Partnerschaft gegründet\, traten in renommierten Tango-Venues auf und arbeiteten mit bekannten Orchestern. Ihr einzigartiger Stil verbindet Körperbewusstsein\, Eleganz\, Charakter und auch die Verspieltheit des Tangos. \nAls Lehrer haben sie ihr Wissen in Schulen und bei Festivals weltweit geteilt\, unter anderem in Spanien\, Mexiko\, Irland und Frankreich. Sie gründeten das Recoleta Tango Studio in Buenos Aires und zeichnetet in verschiedenen Tanzcompanien für Inszenierung\, Ästhetik und Choreografie verantwortlich. \nSie haben bemerkenswerte Werke geschaffen\, wie Prohibido Tango\, das vom mexikanischen Staat ausgezeichnet wurde\, und Taura Tango\, das 2019 beim Internationalen Musikfestival von Cancún seine Premiere feierte. Während der Pandemie 2020 wagten sie sich in den audiovisuellen Bereich und produzierten Projekte wie …from your balcony und Cuarentango. \nSowohl Elizabeth als auch Matias haben umfangreiche Tanzausbildungen\, zusammen haben sie den Tango sowohl auf der Bühne als auch in Tanzschulen weltweit verbreitet. \n  \n\nThis week\, we have the pleasure of featuring a very special couple for a captivating performance during the milonga. \nElizabeth Cordone & Matias Rivas \nElizabeth Cordone and Matias Rivas are renowned dancers\, choreographers\, and teachers of Argentine Tango. They formed a professional partnership in Buenos Aires\, performed in prestigious tango venues\, and worked with well-known orchestras. Their unique style blends body awareness\, elegance\, character\, and the playful spirit of tango. \nAs teachers\, they have shared their expertise in schools and at festivals worldwide\, including in Spain\, Mexico\, Ireland\, and France. It doesn’t mean though that we have to eliminate them from our improvisational possibilities in the milonga. \nCome and expand your vocabulary of voleos\, and learn how to tailor them depending on the size of the space you’re in. Finding greater ease in moments of musicality\, creativity\, and inspiration. \n  \n15:00-16:30 ⭐ The musicality and magic of Milonga \nLearn to apply the different musicalities of milonga through some essential sequences that will move us on the dance floor. \nTap into the secrets of the many rhythmical possibilities of milonga and improve your comfort and creativity while you dance! \n  \n16:45-18:15 ⭐ Find the place to change the embrace \nWhen it comes to steps that require opening or closing the embrace\, it’s a moment where miscommunications can happen to anyone. \nSet up your connection for success with this workshop\, where we will work on recognizing where to change the embrace and how each partner can help to administrate a smooth transition! \n  \nAlejandro and Kelly will perform at Milonga Central (ÖTK Bäckerstraße 16\, 1010 Wien) and our workshops’ participants receive a discount on the entrance fee (10€ instead of 15€). The milonga starts at 21:00. \n  \nSUNDAY DECEMBER 1. \n❤️ \n13:00-14:30 ⭐ The Art of the Pause \nWe always like to say to our students: If you think you are pausing too much\, you are just starting to pause enough! \nTango is a dance that encompasses the movements we do\, don’t do\, and each moment in between. \nPauses are one of our most useful tools in communicating and regulating energy in the milonga and in shows. \nSome questions we’ll answer in this workshop are: When are the best times to pause? What are the best ways to suggest a pause? How can I better understand when it’s time to pause? And most importantly: What should I do when I’m pausing? \n  \n14:45-16:15 ⭐ Music & Movement \nLet’s explore how we express our musicality by diving deep into two of the most popular classic tango orchestras: Canaro and Di Sarli. \nIf you think you already master them\, you’d be surprised how much more is there to play with! \nFrom rhythm to melody\, we will explore the fundamental elements of tango music and musicality when we are dancing with a partner\, and how to imprint our personality to its interpretation. \nOn the way to finding your own personal expression of how to dance when you hear these orchestras play\, we will also share fascinating stories of some of tango’s most famous orchestra leaders\, Francisco Canaro and Carlos Di Sarli\, and the impact that they’ve had on the tango that we dance nowadays! \n  \n16:30-18:00 ⭐ Bringing Buenos Aires to you: Creativity in the smallest spaces \nWhen a milonga is full\, we don’t just want to survive.
